Article | Vaporman87 | I was always disappointed by the fact that I could never recreate the image on the front of Halloween Makeup/Costume packaging. You would think by a certain age, you would come to the realization that no product is EVER faithfully recreated from the packaging or promotional image (fast food... I'm looking at you). But no. We keep believing, and failing. LOL This year, with my family going as Scooby-Doo and the gang, I've found that I don't WANT to recreate the all-in-one promo/package look. They're dreadful and cheap looking. My wife is gathering our costumes one piece at a time through various outlets (with the exception of Scooby). | Sep 10, 2014 | ![]() |
Article | Vaporman87 | LOL. This was part refresher course and part revelation for me. I suppose a great many of us didn't quite realize how much like Screech we really were (though perhaps without the same level of flair). It is true that the show revolved around Zack's exploits, but it didn't start out that way did it? I was thinking initially the creators were going to focus more on the faculty than the students, and then that changed as it was developed. Either way, they all had flaws that played into the plots of the episodes. Yeah, Slater was likely the most levelheaded of the bunch. And he probably ended up being the character that everyone really liked the best (even though they might not admit it). | Dazed By The Bell | Sep 10, 2014 | ![]()
Article | Fulton4V | The Super powers toys were some of my favorites. I had many of those. I had Batman, Superman, Mation Manhunter, and some others. I also had some Muscle figures too. Not very many though. My younger brother had more than I did of those. And I think he still has some of those. Ill have to ask him about that. | The Mini & The Mighty | Sep 09, 2014 | ![]()
Article | vkimo | There's actually a Pound Puppy at the thrift store now haha it's been there a few days. I found one about 2 years ago still in the cardboard dog house, that was cool. | Retro Thrifting | Sep 08, 2014 | ![]()
Article | Vaporman87 | I remember some mention of Z-bots in that forum thread on things we'd like to see brought back. That was another line I had no familiarity with. I think I just wasn't into the minifig craze then. I was still wanting the 6" to 12" style lines. | The Mini & The Mighty | Sep 08, 2014 | ![]()
Article | vkimo | One of my favorite mini fig lines were Z Bots. They were made by Micro Machines and looked like little robots. There were tons of them and I think I have exactly 1 left from the dozens I had as a kid. | The Mini & The Mighty | Sep 08, 2014 | ![]()
Article | pikachulover | I'm trying to think if there were other mini girl toys besides CUTIES. I think the Petite Ponies. They were really small My Little Ponies and the Littlest Pet Shop toys. Companies liked to market tiny playsets to girls. | The Mini & The Mighty | Sep 08, 2014 | ![]()
Article | pikachulover | I remember those furniture stores. There were some in my area too in So. Cal. When I got thrifting I like to pick up Sanrio items. I've gotten some good deals including a suitcase and plush. Sanrio items are hard to gauge. You need to have a good eye for them. One time I bought a large Pound Puppy. | Retro Thrifting | Sep 08, 2014 | ![]()
Article | Vaporman87 | No doubt. If nothing else, your bound to find inspiration for writing by sifting through the stories and memories of others. Though something tells me you have a pretty good amount of inspiration as it is. lol | The Mini & The Mighty | Sep 07, 2014 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | Yeah, her article on C.U.T.I.E.S is what got me thinking about the other toys of that size from back int he day. That's the great thing about this site, we can spark those memories in each other with our own. | The Mini & The Mighty | Sep 07, 2014 | ![]()
