1928ArticleVaporman87Gee... you didn't strike a nerve with this one or anything. LOL Feb 09, 2015View
5754ArticleVaporman87Garfield was always a personal favorite for me. I tried many times to learn to draw Garfield, never with much success. Jim's lines were always so precise, whereas mine were just too fluid and all over the place. Thanks for this great read!Garfield and Friends Turned Me in to a Garfield FanaticOct 06, 2023View
1937ArticleNLoganGaijinninja held the top 2 spots for the longest time with AA Heaven and Coin-ops Golden Age, 1980-1984. I briefly held all ten spots for most popular for 1 month when gaijinninja's finally got old enough. Then along came a whippersnapper from the 90s generation who totally shook it up and started a new era of Retro*Junk. This is from around the time when vkimo finally broke through the 100 point barrier. <img src="/images/postImages/1423529315vkimo100.gif" height="436" width="556">Remembering RetroJunkFeb 10, 2015View
5283ArticleoniparFunny thing, after finishing this article, I found the Valentine's Day issue, and you guessed it...I drew horror stuff for that one too! Ha! Tony, Nice! That sounds like just the sort of activity book I would buy. Ben, Oh nice! I have a couple very similar memories. I definitely watched some stuff I shouldn't have at a far too young age. Not sure I grew up normal though :-pHalloween Is in My BloodSep 23, 2020View
1984Articleechidna64Funny thing is, with all the hipsters nowadays, this probably would be a big seller. Things Are Going To Be OKFeb 12, 2015View
2981ArticleVaporman87Funny thing about "Who's That Girl"... my best friend and I used to loathe that song and the movie. When it was released, we poked fun at it endlessly. We went so far as to make it a running gag in some of our "radio broadcasts" (just us pretending to have a radio show recorded on cassette tapes). Usually it ended up being something about Madonna being sued or Madonna suing someone else over the song or the movie. I still don't care for Madonna, but she sure made for some great kid humor fodder.Top 10 Madonna Songs from the 80s and 90sOct 21, 2015View
3860ArticleHoju KoolanderFunny story, last year a boxed SEGA Pico system was shipped to me unannounced. I sent the word out on social media, asking for the sender to reveal themselves, but got no response. So I totally set it up for my kids with that Richard Scary game and they were having a great time. A few days later I got an email from an eBay seller from whom I had won an auction, saying he accidentally shipped the Pico to me and needed it returned. Ah well, it was a fun 48 hours.1990s EdutainmentApr 24, 2017View
3384ArticleRick Ace RhodesFunny man, ever since my RJ days I was planning an article devoted to Saban's other adaptions. Believe or not, I grew up on Masked Rider. It was one of my favorite shows growing up. I still have an old VHS tape filled with different episodes of the show. Looking back on it when I'm older I can see why so many people hate it, but it still holds a place in my heart.Mighty Morphin Ripoff Rangers Part 1Feb 26, 2016View
2709ArticlepikachuloverFunny I was just thinking about laser pointers a few days ago. My professor had one she let somebody in the class use it as a prop for a skit we had to perform in class. Talk about fads! I had a fanny pack that came with special pockets for troll dolls and it came with a troll. I had a few others too. Although I don't remember using them besides the troll one to hold my other trolls. I didn't really get into pogs until my neighbor did. I would always lose to her because she had this Nala bootleg slammer that thing was so heavy! My parents refused to buy me an adequate slammer. I loved rollerblading or inline skating.I got rid of my old small skates years ago. I was really thinking of getting myself another pair and taking it up again. 5 Fads of the 90'sSep 23, 2015View
2464ArticleVaporman87Funny how the companionship of a dog can make a kid feel so much more confidence and peace. Like they were made to compliment each other. Unless you ask my middle son. He's scared to death of even the tiniest dog. Losing a beloved pet in your youth is rough. It leaves an empty space in you that you can remember forever. I can still feel the distress of knowing my dog, Susie, was being given to my uncle because my mom and dad had divorced, and she was moving and did not want the dog. Neither did my dad. I felt a bit betrayed. But yes, gaming can make you forget your worries for while. A much better alternative than alcohol or meds. You can enter another world and live there for a time, forgetting that OTHER life and the issues you're dealing with. Doing that as a kid creates a lasting memory of how you coped. One I'm glad you shared vkimo! Summer of SheebaAug 05, 2015View
