I would decorate my various school supplies with stickers, carry around the magazine for reference when drawing, and use the coloring books to trace, then copy to a new page without tracing. This is how I developed the ability to keep the drawings anatomically correct. Certain muscles overlap others, and some are larger in proportion to others... things like that. I never took an anatomy class in order to know how to properly draw the human musculature. | 2003 | Article | Vaporman87 | Great article Hoju. This really hits home, as I am in the same boat as you. My memories of sleepovers past are golden. We had a lot of fun, though more innocent fun. Probably the most ornery thing we did was squirt fake blood on my best friend's sister while she slept. LOL. But we do live in different times. Kids are allowed to get away with far more than ever before, and if you don't want your kids possibly exposed to that, your choices are hard and limited. A great deal of the decision to allow sleepovers depends on the lifestyle of the parents of the friends, and that is not always an easy thing to discover. With the invention of the internet, and social media, you can get a little more familiar with the parents AND children, but even that has its limits (parents aren't always going to be forthcoming about their faults and shortcomings on the internet). One thing that may help you better determine what to do, is to know that as your kids get older, you develop a level of trust in them. My daughter (our oldest) has been a very trustworthy kid and if she continues to be, she might be allowed a limited opportunity to do the sleepover thing. She has had a friend sleepover at our own house, and we are familiar with the grandparents of this other child (with whom she stays while in our area - not her parents). I would probably be okay with her staying at their house. But likely not her parents, whom I know very little about. My best memories of sleepovers involve similar things to what you mentioned. In earlier years, we would enjoy gaming on Atari and Intellivision, the NES, and watching music videos. Sometimes we would enact drama in our school using G.I. Joes. I would be Duke, and my crush would be The Baroness. Later on, we would start our "careers" in audio recordings, making movies, and doing outdoor activities. They were good times for sure. And yeah, we would try to stay up as late as possible. Very rarely did we make it through the whole night though. | Sleepovers | Feb 17, 2015 | |

| 1921 | Article | blueluigi | Great article all the way. It really hits the nail on the head on Retrojunk's history. If there is one thing that I would change are a few inaccuracies. Retrojunk's familiar design that we're all familiar with came along in 2005... not 2007. I first stumbled across Retrojunk at around 2004, but officially joined in 2005. I remember a lot of moments that came around with this site. Members like Reaper spamming the forums with his Fried Oreos Club, DucktalesFan1977 posting about his 80s memories and talked about how much the 90s sucked (though eventually as the account got banned and he registered as gustogummi... he did a complete 180). Sonic64 with the way he points out the obvious and how he argues with others about why we shouldn't hate Sonic or disagree with the things he likes... and how Mezase Master, Xe-A-Thoul, and others gave him what he deserved. It had it's good moments and sometimes bad moments. But in the end, I think it's one of the most diverse sites I've seen throughout the internet. Some of the autistic members on the site were one of the main reasons why I left the site a few times. Not that I don't like autistic people, mind you... and I used to enjoy poking fun at some of the autistic users who came on before. But there was a time where it got to a point where the autistic users just made the site that much less enjoyable, and so I decided to leave for a little while because of it. | Remembering RetroJunk | Feb 09, 2015 | |
