Poor Steve, it was always special to me when the adults handing out candy were dressed up, it really amplified the spirit of the night. I went through the record collection at the old homestead a few years ago, but it had disappeared. I was able to save the Pirates of the Carribean one though. I remember going to Knott's one year while they were transforming it to Knott's Scary Farm and the workers setting-up the stage near the Mine Car ride said it was because Elvira was coming for the Haunt. Then you had to go and mention Kingdom of the Dinosaurs (sniff) that was the only reason I went to Knott's back in the day. It's crazy that the syndicated cartoons in the morning and afternoons co-existed for so long with the Saturday Morning cartoon block, but I suppose this was inevitable. That said, you hit on some of my favorites: Beetlejuice, Camp Candy and those Sunkist commercials are instant nostalgia for me. As for some of the others, I have a Hammerman VHS tape packed away somewhere (yes, it's terrible) and I bought the complete series of Hey Vern, It's Ernest for $5 at Wal-Mart a while back, I like to put it on while I'm cleaning the house on Saturday mornings. | R.I.P. Chupacapra by the train tracks sounds like a great legend. Were there any goats there for him to snack on or just McNuggets? @NLogan I only know the Marvel comics version of Wendigo who fought the Hulk (and Wolverine in his first appearance), I'll have to check out the original version. My favorite was always "The Ghost with the Bloody Fingers". You may be the only person who bought Hulk 180 and 181 for The Wendigo appearance, LOL. @Vaporman I wanna see those catfish, freaky! By the way, I called my Dad last night to confirm the first story about the haunted house, he said it was 100% true. My best friend created a character called "Rakeman" over several years of participating in haunted yards/garages. I loved the idea so much, I eventually made a very no-budget (and it shows) horror-comedy about the character, fleshing out the Rakeman's back story and adding my own flare to it.
