915ArticleMissMHey Vaporman! Yeah, it has been hard to really sit and watch a full movie this year, because things have been so hectic. But I know I will watch some of them. I think Batman Returns got into the rotation because I ended up purchasing it on DVD during the Christmas season, so I have connected it with the season, because I usually will watch it anytime of the year. I so love Frosty the Snowman. I used to cry when I was younger at his fate. I also love the Chipmunks Christmas and A Charlie Brown Christmas. I am very curious to see what the newly revamped Charlie Brown will be like in the next couple of years. Benjanime- Black Christmas is really good! The remade it s a few years ago and it was ok, but the original is just really good. It's like a slasher horror film, but it relies on more suspense than anything else. And yeah, there were a few scenes in the Gremlins movie that always rubbed me the wrong way or creeped me out as a kid. It's funny, because some of those things will still stick with me to this very day. Dec 17, 2013View
875ArticleMissMHey Vaporman, I think one of the problems I have had with watching the parade is that I usually either sleep in or I'm up early to get things together. I am gonna try to watch it tomorrow, because it really does feel like the official kickoff of the holidays. I am glad you are able to visit with some family friends for the holiday with your family. That is nice. I am glad you have your family and friends to be with. I'm the kind of person that if someone does not have a place to be for Thanksgiving, I am forcing them to come with me. And I have to say, it is very nice to be sharing and reading these memories and traditions. I know what you mean, I have never met anyone that I have talked with and gotten to know, but I feel like I know them too. And now, with Retro-Daze, I feel like I am getting to know all new people. It is a very wonderful thing. Happy Thanksgiving Vaporman! Fulton4V- I hope you have a great Thanksgiving too! 20 or more people sounds like a very memorable Thanksgiving for sure! 3228ArticlefuschniktHey Vapor..I was surprised just how many traditions, big and small, had gone for me as well. As I was writing this, so many forgotten things came flooding back. Even just the Christmas morning "procedure" so to speak. Waking up, Santa always left something in our room, my mom putting on Christmas music, waiting by the stockings for my dad to get his coffee (he took forever..might have been on purpose). It was really a walk down memory lane. Christmas Memories: Traditions Come and GoneDec 17, 2015View
3802Articleshakin steakHey NLogan, no kidding! I wonder what one of those $1.00 Marvel membership cards would go for on eBay now. A lot more than a buck, I bet! jkatz -- I'm sure they did that for legal reasons. As far as the new-old stock...probably long dispersed by now, if there even was much made and unsold in the first place. I don't guess there was a lot, but I could be wrong.Halftone WondersMar 26, 2017View
2925ArticleDrakkenskyHey NLogan, glad to know another Utahn. Lol. I have heard about the weeping woman tombstones, but haven't been to them. I know the exact place you are talking about, the Ophir ghost town, out by Tooele. I've been there, it was really cool. echidna64, yeah, the Lily E. Gray headstone is pretty interesting. That is just more of an oddity than anything. The only thing that is really said about that, was just that her husband, and last living relative was the one that had it made, and that he was a loony, and was placed in an asylum.Urban Legend visit of my youth-revisitedOct 14, 2015View
4001ArticleOldSchool80sHey Laz, thanks for sharing. What a strange combination of shows. I remember watching Battlestar when it was in primetime, but not really in syndication where I grew up. I do remember watching Family Affair in syndication, but it was during the day (not late at night). I do have fond memories of staying up late to watch Elvira's scary movies, but it might be more fond memories of just seeing the sexy Elvira herself. One thing I remember staying up late on Saturday nights to watch in the market I grew up was wrestling shows. They showed World Class Championship Wrestling out of Dallas late on Saturday nights and then I also remember that was when GLOW was on as well. I also loved getting to stay up late to watch Saturday Night Live when I was deemed old enough for that. Late Night Re-runs (Circa mid-80s)Jul 22, 2017View

4956ArticleBenjanimehey guys, just thought i'd mention that this article was originally planned to be a bit longer, but with the limitation on length i had to narrow it down a chunk. it was nothing special though, i was just going to add some funny moments from these trips. so likely in the future if i have more lengthy stories like this to tell i'll start putting them in seperate parts. The Summer ArchivesJun 19, 2019View
3767ArticleVaporman87Hey don't be dissin' Crunch 'N Munch now! It was the snack I... had to go with because nothing else was present in the pantry at the time. And it tasted fair! And who wouldn't want to be SweetTarts Man, really? He has the power to create teeth-rotting snacks on demand. As far as Combo-Man: Would those gauntlets be part of Deadpool? I don't know, probably not. And maybe Mr. Fantastic thighs? Hard to tell.Marvel Comics Food Ads of the 90'sFeb 21, 2017View
