| 1673 | Article | BarryBgb | It's so nice to finally see someone else mention "Twas the Night Before Christmas"! I love that one and no one seems to remember it. It was also nice to see "Dutch" getting some love. It was raked across the coal when it was released, but I've always found it to be enjoyable and fun. Ever since '94, I started making tapes for Christmas and Halloween. Taping things off the TV (and I still do!). I have 20 tapes each and some things that just aren't seen anymore. I even remember the local news having stories about the movie coming out and the local excitement. I was already a huge fan of the Adam West show and had action figures and such. I spent a lot of time trolling those aisles looking at things I wanted and hoped to get. The pics in this article are amazing and really hit home. My own experiences with my cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents... they weren't like yours. I had very little in common with my cousins on either side. On my Dad's side, either they were never around and I barely knew them, which made me uncomfortable around them, or I knew them and... just didn't like them much. :) On my Mom's side, almost all of my cousins fit into one of three categories: Jocks/Army Guys, Delinquents, and Girls. I fit in with exactly none of these three categories, and therefore did not fit in at all. I made no attempt to try either. No, my enjoyment of Christmas came with just immediate family, and friends. And, it's still that way today (though with a marriage and 3 kids - and one more on the way - our family has grown and so has our group of friends). Great story Miss M. That one I have fond memories of watching as a kid. The little mouse that rats out Santa as a myth always got on my nerves. I always wished one of the humans would catch him in a trap. LOL I'm interested in watching The Snowman. It sounds just splendid, so I'll check out the link you provided for that one. I'm also going to check out the Raggedy Ann and Andy special. I'm thinking I MAY have seen that one before, but it's been so long ago that I remember little to nothing about it. I had all of them too until this past year when I was finally able to let a few boxes go. What can I say? More space was needed. It was with a heavy heart, but I had to. Those were good times. E.T. is as magical now as it was then. Still gives goosebumps. I was 3/4 around the time, but I remember seeing it on the big screen.
