Article | NLogan | Yeah that one hits right in the childhood. Angel trees were always anonymous here as well. Never heard of the benefactor giving the stuff personally. | Dec 12, 2015 | ![]() |

Article | NLogan | The important thing Tony, is that you made the effort and didn't deprive your children visiting their grandmother. Your wife is worth way more than her weight in gold and she was right (they usually are, don't tell mine I said that). My parents and my wife's parents are divorced. There have been plenty of awkward get togethers. But if they wanted to see the grandchildren they had to at least be civil to make it work being in the same room together. My mom and dad are now good friends, but it wasn't always so. My wife's parents have a ways to go but at least are no longer being juvenile and petty. It is hard when people feel deprived of their most precious things in the world their own children, whether in decision making or just quality time. That is the magic of Christmas however, the season brings people closer together. | Bah Humbug! | Dec 13, 2015 | ![]()
Article | NLogan | @vkimo, mine were tattooed former airborne rangers at 6'6" and 6'4" respectively. One put us on his Harley Davidson motorcycle and wheelied scaring the crap out of me. The other had the nickname "Tree" and had his own slot machine one armed bandit that you could play. It never escalated beyond beating them at chess and losing to them in arm wrestles. By the time I could actually take them in high school I was heavily into martial arts and they were both in their late 50s. But I still remember the, "Say boy, c'mere lookit this". | Bah Humbug! | Dec 14, 2015 | ![]()
Article | NLogan | I am old enough to have seen all of the films in the theater with my dad. For Raiders of the Lost Ark I caught a re-release in 1982. I love the trilogy films and the ride at Disneyland. I went as Indiana Jones this last Halloween. I remember the DietCoke commercial but not the McDonald's advertising. LJN made Temple of Doom toys but I never did find them as a kid. I do have a Temple of Doom lunchbox and one Temple of Doom collector's glass from 7UP although I don't remember where I got it from. Maybe Godfather's pizza as that is where I got my Goonies ones. I also had Tops cards as a kid for the Raiders and Temple of Doom. | Indiana Jones Memories | Jan 11, 2016 | ![]()
Article | NLogan | Only 2 people knew who I was supposed to be. Lots of people thought it was a mask and were surprised to find out it was make up. If you look very closely at the maxilla region above where my upper lip would be near the philtrum, you can see the line of the bottom of my nose. The nostrils are actually painted clear up on the bridge of my nose to try for more of a likeness to the character. | Disney's Haunted Mansion Hat Box Ghost | Dec 12, 2016 | ![]()
Article | NLogan | Nice. I had a few GoBots and always wanted the diecast Voltron. The pictures especially the fact that you took them make this one special. | Christmas 1985 Through My Gobots Camera Lens | Dec 12, 2016 | ![]()
Article | NLogan | I don't know about a hot toys Yoda but I passed once on a pretty cool one that was 1:1 size. I could have picked it as part of a costume contest win. Instead of going all for one thing I decided to get lots of little things. Too bad your bro never got one, cool that you are going to finally get him his Christmas wish. <img src="/images/postImages/1481582526darthmaul-(17).gif"> | Christmas Conundrum | Dec 12, 2016 | ![]()
Article | NLogan | When I won a X-Box 360 and gave it to my boys I opened it and created profiles and downloaded games like the week before so that it was ready to roll Christmas morning. That F-14 looks sweet. I had WWII fighter that was gas powered but flew in a circle on a hand held line. I never did get a Genesis but I loved me some Altered Beast in the arcade and secretly wanted one but the Nintendo dominated in my house. | A Very Sega Christmas | Dec 12, 2016 | ![]()
Article | NLogan | I had Tomax and Xamot. Since I was a twin it was sort of a given that I should buy one. I guess I liked whichever one had the scar better. In 1980 age 3 I have a picture of me with my grandpa showing me how a toy conveyor worked. We got several trucks that year and I got a red metal working conveyor. I have the picture however grandpa is just wearing a robe and long john underwear which unfortunately is showing in the picture. I am glad that you were able to learn something about your dad. My dad was my hero too. Knowing what kind of men they were helps us to become better men. Thank you for your story. Merry Christmas Mick to you and the family. | 1986: The Year That Santa Became Real | Dec 16, 2016 | ![]()
