1176ArticleVaporman87Okay. So now I feel a bit like perhaps I've been a bit too hard on Mike Bay and his foray into TMNT. That's no small feat, let me add. Wow. What can I say. Much of this made my eyes bleed and ears bleed. Everything from the Ninja Rap to the Turtles on tour make you wonder what the heck those in charge of these decisions were thinking. I wonder how Eastman and Laird feel about these things. Do they hide under pillows wishing they would go away? Taking the cake though, is that Oprah interview. What the heck was the guy playing Raph thinking? Who says that as a Turtle with all these kids watching??? Good grief, that's just wrong. Hopefully whoever that guy was is cleaning bathrooms at a gas station now. Thanks for ruining my rose-colored glasses Mike. LOL. Jul 22, 2014View
2228ArticleVaporman87Okay... I'll admit that the Legends of Batman series is intriguing, but all they did with the Batman Animated Series in '94 was crank out 40,000 Batman variants and one bad guy. Good grief, if there was one thing I DESPISED about the 90's, it was the onset of the "variant"! Yes, we had our share of variants in the 80's, sure. Terror-Claws Skeletor??? But man, Kenner... and to an even greater extent, Playmates... just went OVERBOARD with the variants. Such a waste of plastic. Nice Shadow collection you have there. I enjoyed The Shadow, but never though much about it after my initial viewing. I liked Alec Baldwin at the time (less so as years passed and he became a liberal nutcase), and thought he performed the role adequately. That Shaq had his own line of figures is proof that companies would just make toys of anything popular by the mid-90's (even more so today). Kenner Action Toy Guide '94Apr 27, 2015View

5042ArticleVaporman87OMG, the drawing on the packaging for that RoboCop watch is giving me flashbacks to the original Mega Man box art! Maybe they were the same artist? I do have to wonder what it must feel like to take a bath in RoboCop bubble bath. 3404ArticleHoju KoolanderOn a business trip 10 years ago I had the good fortune to wander through these very Chinatown streets of San Francisco and it was every bit as odd as you made it sound. Sadly I did not get caught in a battle between 2 supernatural Chinese gangs as John Carpenter led me to believe I would.China TownFeb 28, 2016View
3168ArticlemickyarberOn the flip side, I always looked forward to (and still do) the family Christmas parties. With so many cousins, we just drew names and none of the gifts were expensive. You may end up wanting what someone else got, but only because it looked cool and not because it was more expensive that who you had gotten. Fun article. What a Stuffy Party! Dec 10, 2015View
959ArticleVaporman87On the subject of Bill Nye, I heard he will soon be debating Ken Ham from Answers In Genesis (the proprietor of the Creation Museum) on the topic of human creation/evolution. Interesting.90's Vs: Bill Nye the Science Guy vs...Jan 25, 2014View
929ArticleVaporman87On the topic of writing in books, I still have a few from my past that are bursting at the seems with my textual riffing of the action taking place in the pages. Everything from Winnie The Pooh to He-Man received my written scorn. I can recall re-reading the books once I had "revised" them, and cracking myself up until tears poured down my face. LOL. I was my own biggest fan with stuff like that. Thanks for this Miss M. I will have to dig out those old story books and just read them again.Christmas Retro ReadsDec 23, 2013View
