3374ArticlepikachuloverThe relatives who did that to me were sneaky, and did when my parents weren't looking. Once my parents had found out I had already given it away. I did complain about it to my mom though.  Feb 19, 2016View
3375ArticleHoju KoolanderSanrio items were so exotic, parents just didn't get it. Not being a girl I never heard of Minnie N Me, but it's so of that era. I can't imagine giving away something so precious and new at that age.The PurseFeb 20, 2016View
3380ArticlepikachuloverMy mom and some of my other relatives just felt Sanrio items were just over priced versions of cheaper items. The PurseFeb 23, 2016View
3363ArticlepikachuloverI definitely remember getting a few Ninja Turtles ones. I also got California Raisins, Berenstain Bears, Nerds and Garfield. When I first went to school I used to give really girly Valentines like Care Bears and Minnie Mouse. Then I moved onto ones for boys and girls like Chipmunks, Tiny Toons, Animaniacs and Rugrats. I liked getting sports themed Valentines they were something different. I remember getting NFL ones. Rad Retro ValentinesFeb 14, 2016View
3362ArticleVaporman87I'm pretty sure I received several Smurfs cards. They were pretty popular in the early 80's, when I was in elementary school. Sometimes Star Wars would make it into the mix too. For me, making my "receiving box" was the highlight. I always did my best to deck that thing out and outdo the others. LOLRad Retro ValentinesFeb 14, 2016View
3364ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 I am imagining multiple puzzle based locks and mechanics in your Valentine receptical. @pikachulover Yeah, Tiny Toons and Animaniacs were definitely big for everybody back then.Rad Retro ValentinesFeb 15, 2016View
3365ArticleVaporman87Really, my design was more about LOOKING better than the others. Maybe getting a little more creative with the materials. Not just boxes with stickers or drawings on it. Rad Retro ValentinesFeb 15, 2016View
3372ArticleVaporman87I would definitely consider this to be a perfect Saturday morning as a kid. With the exception of cutting my mouth on Cap'n Crunch cereal. I'd ditch that for some Golden Grahams or Cookie Crisp. Great read, Hoju! The Perfect Saturday MorningFeb 19, 2016View
3383ArticleOldSchool80sFun stuff, especially the cereal. I would've have definitely included Pee-Wee's Playhouse on my schedule. I kept Bugs Bunny in my rotation all the way through, so whatever version probably Bugs The Perfect Saturday MorningFeb 25, 2016View
3377ArticleVaporman87This craze came after my school age years, so I never understood it. MMPR and Pokemon both confused me. I didn't see what was so fascinating about either. But there was definitely an "Asian invasion" that was spearheaded by both franchises. The knock-offs of those franchises were laughably worse. Mighty Morphin Ripoff Rangers Part 1Feb 23, 2016View
