Video | Benjanime | i think it was rareware's last "good" game. well to me anyway. donkey kong 64 was indeed their longest game, but the majority of that had to do with collecting a bunch of things and playing minigames. i think working in 3D was rareware's weakness when you compare these to their 2D games | Feb 19, 2013 | ![]() |
Article | Lazlo | I think it was an important moment, if you were like me growing up (and as an adult). I was the bookworm who spent a lot of time at the library, with an interest in nerdy stuff like history. I think these '80s nerd flicks, as campy and comical as they are on the surface, actually had a deeper message. It was about appreciating being nerdy and being into knowledge, and not being ashamed of it . . . and having fun with it too. Real Genius is still one of my fave flicks. | The 1980s: When Nerds Became Cool | May 04, 2017 | ![]()
Article | Benjanime | i think in my opinion the only two good gundam shows on toonami were g-gundam and gundam wing, not too much filler like gundam seed. at least coming from memory, that's how they were to me, i might have to watch them again. | TDitH's Non-traditional Christmas Movies 2: Going Japanese | Dec 06, 2021 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | I think I was just way to precious about my action figures to even get close to breaking them. I do remember a few chewed MOTU figure fingers, but nothing where the whole toy came apart. The closest I got to seeing G.I. Joes break was my friend's brother who would mix and match limbs to create new mutant characters. So I guess the fact that the figures were easily dismantled was a plus to him. | Toy Annihilation | Mar 02, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Mr Magic | I think I started watching Raw around 1994, but I started watching it regularly beginning in summer of 1997. Bret Hart was a heel at the time, which was weird because he was always a fan favorite. But yeah, I was so committed to watching Raw since then. But I also watched Nitro as well. They were both equally good imo. I never stuck with with just one wrestling product. When 2000 came though, I mostly watched Raw. Mainly due to the McMahon/Helmsley storyline. That was some good stuff. There were some other things that made Raw really worth watching too. You know, I don't care what anyone says, Ready to Rumble was a decent film. The wrestling fan in me liked it. As for who my favorite wrestler is, I would have to say Bill Goldberg. Not just because of his very, very, VERY long undefeated winning streak, but because of the fact that he was a Georgia Bulldog in college. Go Dawgs! I had a great deal of Goldberg stuff: Shirts, a cap, an action figure and other stuff. But anyway, well done article. | Wrestling with the 90's | Mar 11, 2015 | ![]()
Article | shakin steak | I think I saw this. I was never into soda so I wouldn't have drank it. Or maybe I just recognize Dan Clowes' art. (Either way it's perfect for what they were trying to do.) I remember a different weird prerecorded phone message campaign from around the same time that my friend and I called incessantly, but we never bought the product. | 4552 | Article | Superman | I think I saw some of that kryptonite for sale when I visited the Superman Celebration in Metropolis, IL several years ago. If not this specific version, it was definitely similar in that it was just some regular rocks painted green. I considered buying it for a souvenir but rethought it since they were, after all, just painted green rocks. The paint was even coming off already. | Super Hero Toy Catalog 1978 | Sep 16, 2018 | ![]()
Video | Mr Magic | I think I got that at a used video game store once like Babbage's. | Super Gameboy Commercial | Jan 08, 2013 | ![]()
Article | Vaporman87 | I think I could deal with the younger kids because I actually could relate better with them. Sure, my main "clique" of friends were my age, but my younger friends and I were on the same level as far as our interests and imaginations. | The Older Kid | Feb 03, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Vaporman87 | I think I am in agreement with you on ALMOST all of these properties have some kind of plastic treatment. With the exception of Troop Beverly Hills. The only collectible version of Shelley Long I would even LOOK at on a shelf would be something from Cheers probably. :) I'm surprised that Archie hasn't yet had some kind of figure available in stores. I'm now seeing properties like Huckleberry Hound and Yogi Bear in Toys 'R Us. So I don't think Archie is a big stretch. His gang's been around long enough for one. Lastly, I would be very interested to see more board game to action figure collectible action happening. I would pick the Monopoly guy, some Candy Land figs maybe. Thanks Miss M! | Dream Toys | Jan 21, 2014 | ![]()
