I didn't really like the parody videos either because half the time I didn't know which song they were parodying. Beakman was just played by an actor. But Beakman's World was based off a comic strip called You Can with Beakman and Jax. The Mad Scientist Kids Club was a funny Beakman's World like knockoff show. | 962 | Article | pikachulover | Angelinos can't deal with rain! No really we can't. All that stuff they make fun of on tv about people not handling the rain is true. The news coverage is funny too. It's usually called something like "Stormwatch (and the year number)". The schools aren't built for rain around here. The junior high I went to didn't have an indoor cafeteria or gym. It makes you hearty to spend at least 40 minutes in a wooden patio covered area. Then you would shiver at P.E. Strangely enough the streets don't drain that well either. Even if they do go directly into the ocean. I remember the particularly rainy winters of 91-93, and in 97/98 (an el nino year)and in 2004. I think I went insane during those winters. | 973 | Article | pikachulover | All the commercial jingles I remember from my youth have ruined me! Whatchamacallit is ingrained in my mind along with Caramello, Ring Pop and Juicy Fruit. I seemed to like candy jingles. Makes sense I love candy. I remember the Superman ad since I'm a big Seinfeld fan. At least you didn't use that 1984 Apple ad. I'm so sick of hearing about that ad! Maybe it's because I've been studying mass media in college. I think the Smart Beep ad was performed as a skit at one of my high school assemblies along with one of those old "Tampax was there" ads. My school assemblies had strange themes like commercials. Other themes they used separately were Disney and robots. I'm not sure why the assemblies needed a theme. I have one of those flipping head figures of the Pink Ranger. I begged my parents to buy it for me when I saw it at the Sav-on. I even took the figure to the beach. The figures that were metallic were the ones from the 1st movie. I've been thinning out my MMPR collection, and keeping the stuff I really wanted to save. My mom also used to buy me the 4 packs, so I had some random figures from those. There seemed to be something about ballerinas. There was also a ballerina in the babies set. I didn't like that they were monochromatic, so I used to color on them with crayons and markers. I mostly colored their clothes. I remember coloring Mary Mee's bouquet with a blue crayon. I even brought some to art class in high school to draw for an assignment. We had to draw how the light was on plastic objects.
