3180 | Article | MarshMellow | Thanks, everyone, for taking the time to read my essay. Vaporman87, I refuse to be sued by anyone who doesn't heed my cautionary tale. I recommend keeping your face away from the action.:) | Dec 11, 2015
3223 | Article | Hoju Koolander | The explosions and makeup parts were fun, but I am more touched that you got along with your Mom's boyfriend's daughter. I had as similar experience, where my Mom's boyfriend wasn't my favorite guy in the world, but his Grandson and I were best buds. They could take as much time for hanky-panky as they wanted as long as the two of us got to hang out. We're still in touch today and have many years of adventures to look back on. | Expl-ho-ho-ho-sion | Dec 14, 2015
3227 | Article | MarshMellow | Hoju, It's awesome that you are still in touch with your childhood buddy. I wish I could say that "Lacey" and I had kept in touch, but our parents split up when we were about 12 years old. She lived with her mom in a different town (this was before we had internet at home) so we never saw each other again after that. | Expl-ho-ho-ho-sion | Dec 16, 2015

3168 | Article | mickyarber | On the flip side, I always looked forward to (and still do) the family Christmas parties. With so many cousins, we just drew names and none of the gifts were expensive. You may end up wanting what someone else got, but only because it looked cool and not because it was more expensive that who you had gotten. Fun article. | What a Stuffy Party! | Dec 10, 2015
3177 | Article | Vaporman87 | Our get-togethers at our my Grandma's house were kind of like what you describe here. I didn't really know my cousins well (nor did I care much for them). So I just wanted to get the good stuff and get home. I would typically play with my haul until Christmas morning, after which those toys became all but forgotten for several weeks, if not forever. | What a Stuffy Party! | Dec 11, 2015
3181 | Article | pikachulover | I was a strange age in both sides of the family. I'm the youngest on my mom's side. My 2nd cousin wasn't born until I was about 7. My cousins on my mom's side usually didn't bother me. They'd just put on a cartoon or something and I watch it and behave. As for the party presents. I'd just play with them and forget too except the CPK dolls. | What a Stuffy Party! | Dec 11, 2015
3222 | Article | Hoju Koolander | I laughed at your comparison to Cousin Eddie, that really set the scene. All my extended family lived out of state growing up so Christmas time was celebrated with just my older brother and sister's families, I would have loved a huge party like this to complain about years later;) | What a Stuffy Party! | Dec 14, 2015
3161 | Article | Vaporman87 | Yes! What a great memory to have. Such a great story. Isn't it amazing how something so trivial can mean the difference between happiness and sorrow? What was it that made your mother so "anti-gaming"? Was she devoutly religious, or just wary of "newfangled" things? Did you end up getting that Atari 2600? If so, how did that go over in the weeks and months following? Why do Greeks think they're all that? LOL (Not a real question) Thanks for sharing this Kid C. It was stellar. | Perfect Game | Dec 10, 2015 |
