429 | Video | Vaporman87 | Oh okay. So she was not part of any Mario storyline then. I suppose the similarity between "Plum" and "Peach" made me think she was perhaps a long lost sister of something. | Feb 22, 2013

2991 | Article | Vaporman87 | Ahhh! Great read. I see so many things here that I either had or wanted, and a few things that I had and didn't remember until just now that I did! Like some of those Rock Lords and that space shuttle/pterodactyl Transformer. Ahhh, sooo much great stuff in here. I circled EVERYTHING!!! | The OTHER Good Thing About October | Oct 23, 2015
2995 | Article | mickyarber | I flipped through every page of the catalog before writing this, and wanted to include so much more. The yearly Wish Book was definitely the "Amazon" of my generations youth. There was always so much stuff packed into that thing, you could get just about anything your heart desired from Sears. I'll probably do another one of these featuring a later year...most likely the year Super Nintendo came out. Put a few years between this one and the next one to get a look at how much toys were changing in that period. | The OTHER Good Thing About October | Oct 23, 2015
3007 | Article | Vaporman87 | Not only that, but it really made life easy for the parent. The Wish Book had so much in it that an entire Christmas haul could be listed and checked off in one book. That made putting together the list for "Santa" so much easier. Now, at least for me and my wife, we have to keep an ear open for ideas, be sure to make a note of it (in our phones usually), and do that all through the late Summer and Fall. It sucks. | The OTHER Good Thing About October | Oct 23, 2015
3011 | Article | Vaporman87 | Also, that first picture now has the jingle for "My Buddy" stuck in my head. | The OTHER Good Thing About October | Oct 23, 2015
3015 | Article | mickyarber | I absolutely agree about having to listen for what the kids want. Fortunately (or unfortunately), my kids tell me exactly what they want for Christmas. | The OTHER Good Thing About October | Oct 24, 2015
3016 | Article | Vaporman87 | Mine tell me what they want that very second, then I have to say no and make sure to make a note of it while I'm dealing with the backlash. | The OTHER Good Thing About October | Oct 24, 2015
3042 | Article | GoonieGirl | I remember pouring over the doll houses and spending hours picking out mini furniture and accessories... Oh, unrequited childhood dreams! Not to make you too jealous, but I totally had that sweet rock tumbler. Unfortunately it turned out to be LOUD (tumbling rocks is loud. Imagine that.) so whenever I turned it on, no matter where in the house I "hid" it, someone always found it and turned it off. I'd have been better off with a nice quiet doll house. | The OTHER Good Thing About October | Oct 29, 2015 |
