5296ArticleoniparAnother great one, and I love the illustrations. One of my recurring nightmares as a child had to do with being left a a strange house as my parents drove away over a bridge.  Oct 06, 2020View

5302ArticleoniparMr. Magic, yay! :-) Ben, thanks so much! I think I have one more in the ol' tank before the season is out. If I can ever finish grading these essays. The Halloween Wayback MachineOct 07, 2020View
5306ArticleoniparTony, There are a few people who sell Halloween Mix tapes now and then. Those "Eddie Spuhghetti" (https://www.facebook.com/realeddiespuhghetti) Tapes are occasional sold through the OSI74 store (http://www.osi74.com/). The GothTV ones I traded for on Instagram. I got one from Magnetic Magic Rentals: https://mmrentals.storenvy.com/ Totally Bogus Video (Forever Bogus) had a couple that I never did get my hands on. I can't even find their site anymore. AT the end of the day, it's just the kind of thing you have to be watching for from the various VHS folks out there. Your best bet will be Eddie Spuhgetti, as I believe he is the only one that will still produce copies to sell every year before Halloween. The Halloween Wayback MachineOct 07, 2020View
5310ArticleoniparYes! Oh man, this one is a blast from the past. When I was younger, my dad bought this game for me. I'm convinced he only bought it because it was related to the Addams Family. I was pretty young, so my dad had to explain what the Addams Family was (now I love the show of course). Anyway, I agree, the difficulty level on this game was insane. I wasn't particularly good at beating games, but this one! I never got very far beyond the first areas. That didn't stop me from playing over and over again though. 5356ArticleoniparLooks like our heads were in a similar space while writing our newest articles! The "boxing up" of the holidays was always a sad affair for me, but otherwise very similar to what you describe. We'd always wait until January 1st at the absolute earliest before tearing down the tree and decorations. Leftovers are always a big thing for me, and I'm still, even now, constructing little antipasto platters with the leftover cheese, crackers, olives, and salami. 5361ArticleoniparThanks, Ben. Yeah, I'm always looking for ways to add enjoyment to my winters. I actually do quite enjoy winter. Surviving the Long, Cold WinterJan 07, 2021View
5366ArticleoniparRetroOtaku620: It's a pretty cool game, but I unfortunately don't have it anymore *and* it goes for a lot of money on the secondhand market. Vaporman87: Thanks! Admittedly, I do like winter any way you slice it, and especially with these few enhancements in place. Echidna64: Thank you! Oh man, tomato soup and grilled cheese is classic comfort! Gotta love it. Oh yes, the Star Wars movies were also released in December if I remember correctly, so the same kind of connection as the LOTR movies for sure. Surviving the Long, Cold WinterJan 13, 2021View
5375ArticleoniparI used to love Earthworm Jim. I don't think I ever played anything past the original Genesis game though. That'd be cool if they made a new one that was accessible. The rise, fall, and resurgence of Earthworm JimJan 21, 2021View
