1655ArticleMissM@Hoju Koolander I got it at a Book Stop or Walden books. It was in the magazine section. I have it somewhere, I will look for it and take a picture. It came out around the time of the release of MK 3. It had a break down of the characters, the creation of the game, the phenomenon of the game also with some details about the live tour. I must have read it over and over. One of the funny things is that under each character profile, the characters answer questions like favorite food, favorite book, and one of them was like, who do you get mistaken for and Sonya Blade says She-Ra. I always loved that. Such a fun series. I just wish they'd make nice female figures to the games.  Dec 16, 2014View
1686ArticleMissM@vaporman, thank you. Now that this is my first Christmas divorced, I have been thinking a lot about past Christmases and this was something that just came to my mind. I think my cousins and I started out so close because our parents were all close. But as we got older we all sort of drifted apart and that was really hard. But I am a huge proponent of family no matter if it is large or small, so Christmas always brings that out the most. I am really glad you have your family and friends Vaporman, that is awesome! I hope you have a fantastic Christmas. @HojuKoolander, Nintendo really does bind generations! We would get my grandmother to play Duck Hunt. She wouldn't play anything else, but for some reason she loved that game. I just remember thinking that was the craziest thing ever. I didn't have a lot of Snes games either, but the ones I did own were very memorable. Now I feel like playing some Starfox. I forgot how fun that game was. I hope you have a nice Christmas! How Mario Saved Christmas... and Other Super Nintendo TalesDec 18, 2014View
1747ArticleMissMThese are amazing! I wish I still had my Disney Adventures magazine! Oh my goodness those were the best. I also love that Alien 3 ad. I loved that game and while it wasn't my favorite, I remember that whole marketing time for that movie with the game. Never read the Superman and Batman magazines, but I was more of a Marvel girl at that time. Great and fun article!Kids Magazines of the 90sJan 01, 2015View
1848ArticleMissM@Vaporman, thank you for the tip with the blow dryer! I have heard that tip before but I have always been scared to try it for fear of melting the paint or whatever. I am going to try it though and see how it works! That's also cool that you got a MOC Roboto too. I did get a lot of the new MOTUC figures as well this year. That's a whole other discussion though. lol It was a good year for MOTUC. I also like what you had to say about MoonDreamers being like a cross between Jem and Strawberry Shortcake. There is an outrageous and wild sense of style about them. @pikachulover, that is indeed a dream tail in her hair! It came with the loose doll, I was so thrilled! I liked the dream tails on this line and the hair clip ins with Lady Lovely Locks. Popcorn Pretties are a pretty obscure line, so are the Wee Wild Things which is another line that I just love. Popcorn Pretties are similar to Cupcake dolls, except they were more compact and a little more fun. Though I do like Cupcake Dolls. I hope you are able to one day come across some of the smaller Disney Princess dolls. They are so much fun! And I agree, the Disney Princess franchise really grew out of the items from that time. And that's right! Pinkie Cooper dolls did not do so well. I forgot about those. I still see some at Toysrus but yeah, they kinda crashed and burned. @Hoju Koolander, thank you! It was a nice year for girl toys for sure. I loved the other figures from that wave with Irma too! It was so nice to see them made, even if it was at the end and I could never really find them at the time. And thanks for the comment on the Pizzazz costume. I really really wanted to do that costume proud. The Misfits are by far my favorite from that show. Hope all is well y'all!Miss M's Top 10 Retro Toys of 2014!Jan 27, 2015View
1920ArticleMissMOh my goodness this was so cool! All right. I had (and still do) the Pound Puppies, Hugga Bunch, Pillow People, a Hulk Hogan Wrestling Buddy that I had the biggest crush on. I of course had a Popple and a slew of Care Bears. I loved Pillow People though. I have the cloud one. I also have a studded animal that is like an alphabet creature, where the letters are also part creature. Also, the Wuzzles were some important plushes. This was one amazing article. I've been meaning to comment on it for awhile, but things just get so hectic and busy. Hope all is well!Stuffed Animals of the 80'sFeb 09, 2015View
1999ArticleMissMThat is crazy! I can't believe your school had a connection with that lady and the modeling school. That is some experience you went through. I liked how you also mentioned the Sailor Moon episode because while reading about your experience I kept thinking, this sounds like it could turn into a Sailor Moon episode or something. 2084ArticleMissMI loved it when Kenner would do that! Their Ripley figure from the Alien toy line would get reused again for the Karen figure from the Congo toy line. I remember just being mind blown when that happened. I hadn't realized that parts would be reused for different toy lines. Obviously parts reuse made sense in the same toy line, but it was always a fun surprise. I loved the Beetlejuice toy line, I had so many of these. I still do for the most part. Beetlejuice was big business back then. I am with you though, it always bugged me that there was never a Lydia figure. She was one of the most integral characters on the show! lol Just crazy. Your mention of the booklets and images of other products was exciting for me too. I loved nothing more than looking at everything available and imagining the worlds I could play in if I could just own it all. lol Kenner Action Toy Guide '91Mar 17, 2015View
2206ArticleMissM@EISXUOIS you totally brought up a character that I had forgotten about! But I do agree, I was really upset when Nei died in Phantasy Star 2 as well! I always show a lot of love for Final Fantasy but I also loved playing Phantasy Star games, which are in many ways far more challenging. I didn't play PS2 until I was a little older. I actually played the 4th one first and then revisited the earlier ones as a teen and I didn't actually beat the second Phantasy until some time in my twenties? It was just a very challenging game. I still get chills thinking about being in a dungeon and knowing I won't make it out alive. And thank you for enjoying reading my experiences! I have a lot. lol @Hoju Koolander, I am so thrilled that I am not the only one that thought Samus was simply named Metroid. lol It just made the most sense. I blame the self titled games like Pac Man and Mario for this thought process. lol And there were a few things spoiled for me by Nintendo Power, but how I loved pouring through those issues! @Vaporman87 I can somewhat relate about being shocked by hearing the sound of a voice coming from a game. I think something like that as well as the animated scenes that would come in later on, I remember just being thrown for a loop at how much video games were changing with later systems in the mid 90's or so. And I have no doubt that I would have been in awe and a slight bit jealous of your MK arcade skills! Shock Me, Shock Me, Shock Me…Apr 08, 2015View
2207ArticleMissMI've always wanted to play games like this. It has so many elements of things I like. I've ever really had anyone to get into it with though, but I might be bugging my friends to give a game like this a shot for one of our game nights. Really fun and informative article! The Dragon MasterApr 08, 2015View
2208ArticleMissMOk loved everything about this article. That first NES game was a nightmare. I still can't get past the third stage. The water stage and those bombs still gives me nightmares. I did love the arcade game thought. My first figure was April O'Neil. I remember doing really well on my grades in school and my mom was like, "We can go to the store and find an April figure for you." I loved the Turtles, but I always made sure to collect every version of April possible, and did they ever make some random off the wall April figures. It was hard not to be caught up in the phenomenon of the Turtles at that time. Or really any other time. The cool thing about this property over pretty much most properties from that time is that it has still managed to be a hit with every new version. Well, maybe not that live action series on Fox in the late 90's, but even that wasn't that bad from a toy perspective. Super fun article! Turtles: The Teenage Mutant KindApr 08, 2015View
