896ArticleMissMVaporman- Yeah, the movie was a bit campy. But since I love soaps, a bit of camp is like second nature to me. lol I was very very nervous about opening the cards. Once they are opened there is no going back, ya know? lol Just super scary. lol Trash Man- I never had the trading cards to this movie. I had the movie tie-in books and things like that, but I love love love these trading cards. And there was so much I wanted to mention, like Murray Futterman, but I didn't because I could have spent many more words about the characters and everything. I tried to reserve it to just the cards. lol There's always next time! Dec 12, 2013View
914ArticleMissMThat's a good price Benjanime! They had the disc for sale in a tiny paper ornament for a 1.50 at Big Lots, but it looked really cheap. I hope you were able to pick it up! Vaproman, I just love this special. It truly has a great beginning, middle, and end. The flow is just splendid. And I agree, it is every bit as good if not better than the other specials that get played all the time every year. I hope you are doing well!He-Man and She-Ra Celebrate Christmas too!Dec 17, 2013View
915ArticleMissMHey Vaporman! Yeah, it has been hard to really sit and watch a full movie this year, because things have been so hectic. But I know I will watch some of them. I think Batman Returns got into the rotation because I ended up purchasing it on DVD during the Christmas season, so I have connected it with the season, because I usually will watch it anytime of the year. I so love Frosty the Snowman. I used to cry when I was younger at his fate. I also love the Chipmunks Christmas and A Charlie Brown Christmas. I am very curious to see what the newly revamped Charlie Brown will be like in the next couple of years. Benjanime- Black Christmas is really good! The remade it s a few years ago and it was ok, but the original is just really good. It's like a slasher horror film, but it relies on more suspense than anything else. And yeah, there were a few scenes in the Gremlins movie that always rubbed me the wrong way or creeped me out as a kid. It's funny, because some of those things will still stick with me to this very day.Dorkette Christmas TraditionsDec 17, 2013View
937ArticleMissMNo problem Vaporman! I always love hearing from other people that they wrote in their own books and stuff. It just seems like such a big no-no, but I think it happens a lot. lol It's funny to look back on things like that. Christmas Retro ReadsJan 05, 2014View
938ArticleMissMOh wow, Vaporman, I really enjoyed this comment. I love that you shared about your plush cat Meowwy Wowwy and that your children can carry on the fun of playing with him. That is so cool. As much as I loved the licensed stuffed animals of my youth, I do agree with you, there is something to be said for the plush animals that didn't come from a license. There was something exciting about naming and creating a story for something that was essentially a blank canvas of fun. Thanks for sharing that, and I hope you have been doing well!Have a Plush Christmas!Jan 05, 2014View
944ArticleMissMFulton, one of the things I had hoped for on this soundtrack (and your comment reminded me that I totally missed mentioning it) was that I had hoped that the scene with the different bands playing in the talent show would have been featured on the soundtrack. The opening music from the talent show is on the soundtrack, but it is an entirely different song, (They're So Incredible by Revenge.) When I first heard it I was like, "Yes! They included that whole bit." But no. lol It was a different song. Vaporman- I think my first soundtrack was the Madonna I'm Breathless Dick Tracy soundtrack, which, I don't know if that totally counts. I liked collecting soundtracks as a teen. I didn't do it a whole lot when I was younger, like in middle school I'd just get blank tapes and record songs off the radio. It wasn't until around being a teen that I really got into collecting soundtracks and things like that. And by collecting, it was mostly just soundtracks to movies I really liked. lol And I agree, sometimes the best music has come from a soundtrack due to the nice mix of various artists. 950ArticleMissMWell, I must say, Shelley Long from Cheers would be amazing! Actually, Cheers figures would be pretty cool anyway. I am so surprised that there has yet to be a decent line of Archie figures! It just makes no sense! I know there have been dolls and stuff, but I want some cool figures. The Monopoly guy would also be so good too! I like that you feel the same way. There are some board games that have some great characters just begging for the royal figure treatment! One can only hope. Dream ToysJan 22, 2014View
988ArticleMissMVaporman, I've heard so many people talking about the Radio Shack commercial. I feel like it was the hit of this year's Super Bowl ads. And yes, the Whatchamacallit ad is just amazing isn't it? I also never had a reason to own a pager as the only people I'd talk to were my parents and brother, and I lived with them. lol I'm glad you enjoyed these commercials! pikachulover, I totally agree. There are so many commercials that just burrow themselves into my brain. And I have to agree, the 1984 Apple ad is a bit overrated now. I don't really get excited about it. Your high school assemblies sound completely amazing! I wish those had been video taped or something for us all to see. It sounds absolutely cool. Super Bowl CommercialsFeb 08, 2014View
