847ArticleMissMThank you very much OldSchool80s! Nov 07, 2013View
848ArticleMissMI didn't even know they made sugar free Jolly Rancher candy. That just seems so wrong! I really liked your list. And yeah, as a kid, a coupon book would be awful. But at my age now I'd probably want that one the most out of everything else. lol Top 5 Best and Worst things to get in...Nov 07, 2013View
851ArticleMissMYeah, a cartoon would have possibly helped Golden Girl. (I even think there may have been an attempt, but I don't know if anything was ever officially produced.) I remember as a kid looking at this line and only thinking, "Gee, what's with the pretend She-Ra line?" She-Ra was fortunate to be a spin off of He-Man, it stretched that whole fantasy universe out that much longer. Golden Girl did have some male characters, but they weren't a part of any commercial that I have ever found. Both lines existed in such a strange time for toy collecting though! Glad you enjoyed reading this!Attack of the Warrior Women!Nov 08, 2013View
858ArticleMissMThanks for the comments! I am glad this was a fun read for you all. Fulton, you are so right. Everything requires special bricks now for sets. It is so frustrating at times to finish a set if the pieces are missing. It's always that random piece too! vkimo, I am so glad you mentioned the Paradisa set! I loved that series so much. I wish I could transport myself to those sets all the time. lol And Vaporman, Lego has been evolving their minifigures for quite some time. The pirate really showed off just how creative that could be. I forgot to mention that the pirate minifigures were the first to really sport different facial expressions through the use of beards and facial hair. It is all so interesting and fun. 863ArticleMissMVaporman- I believe there was only one Children's Palace by us, it moved twice before closing down completely. It's so sad, because it was truly a great place. I gave my parents a great deal of grief for sure! lol And yeah, the comedian/rapper guy was a bit much. lol SegaFanatic- Yeah, I think it was important for there to have been more options. I wish there were now, but I guess all the options have moved to the Internet. Glad you enjoyed this! Trash Man- Oh my goodness, thank you for this comment! I had no idea about the origins of Children's Palace. I feel like there was a Child World at one of the nearby malls when I was little, but I vaguely recall it. I mostly just remember Children's Palace. Thank you for this comment! I had no idea. Children's Palace Was RealNov 19, 2013View
865ArticleMissMOh goodness those Palisades figures were top notch weren't they? I miss that toy company so much. They really made some amazing stuff. I have more RE stuff from Toy Biz but I thought I'd save it for another post one day. lol This one ended up becoming longer than I had expected. lol Toy Talk with Miss M- Episode 2!Nov 19, 2013View

872ArticleMissMVaporman- I know! It was very nice to finally finish the second one. I've enjoyed action adventure games for sure, but there is just something special about an RPG for me. I don't even know why, because on paper they sound like very boring games, but I can't get enough of them. lol I never played the Phantasy Star Online games, but I heard it was a good game. I have the Phantasy Star Zero game on the DS, but I haven't played it yet. I'm always behind on that too. lol One thing I do enjoy and love about RPGs is the music. Benjanime_ I've heard the endings are pretty good. I've only gotten past the first generation, so I still have a long ways to go. The Role of Phantasy Star IIINov 26, 2013View
875ArticleMissMHey Vaporman, I think one of the problems I have had with watching the parade is that I usually either sleep in or I'm up early to get things together. I am gonna try to watch it tomorrow, because it really does feel like the official kickoff of the holidays. I am glad you are able to visit with some family friends for the holiday with your family. That is nice. I am glad you have your family and friends to be with. I'm the kind of person that if someone does not have a place to be for Thanksgiving, I am forcing them to come with me. And I have to say, it is very nice to be sharing and reading these memories and traditions. I know what you mean, I have never met anyone that I have talked with and gotten to know, but I feel like I know them too. And now, with Retro-Daze, I feel like I am getting to know all new people. It is a very wonderful thing. Happy Thanksgiving Vaporman! Fulton4V- I hope you have a great Thanksgiving too! 20 or more people sounds like a very memorable Thanksgiving for sure! 878ArticleMissMI know! I love that McDonalds play set, especially because something like that would just never be found in stores today. And the Herself the Elf toys really do look like Strawberry Shortcake, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I was like you and your sister, I would just cut out or draw on things to make them homes for people and stuff. lol I had some MOTU stuff growing up, but I mostly had the POP stuff. The toy lines were just so amazing. I'm glad you were also able to recognize and share some memories of these items. I also am glad you have an affinity for catalogs! I don't collect a lot of them, but I do have some. It is crazy because some catalogs can get really pricey! Just unbelievable. I hope you had a really nice Thanksgiving Vaporman!
