| Article | NLogan | Maybe we are so nostalgic because we needed toys and comic books to get through tough times. My parents are also divorced. I lived with my mom in apartment after apartment and went from school to school. I was perpetually the new kid. Now I always had my twin brother to play with but I was also jealous of those kids with the best friends they had known all of their lives. I had plenty of friends but never the life long kind. Three elementary schools, 3 Jr. Highs, and a high school later I relied heavily on my possessions that always came with me. I regret a few things that I did directed towards others as a kid. Being a new kid and a runt I had my share of being picked on, but we also knew well how to fight having ample opportunity. I had a fairly violent childhood. There was also two of us to tangle with and we weren't above blindsiding and dirty fighting. What did it matter we would probably be moving soon anyways. This article more than anything brings perspective on the changes now that we are adults and what we want our children to experience as they grow. | Feb 12, 2015
| Article | fuschnikt | @vapor- Man, I could go for some Oreo cereal myself. So many cereals on my list of products I would welcome back. S'mores cereal, anyone? The real stuff. The stuff made with golden graham pieces. Not that sad excuse from the 00's. Pop Tart's cereal? Ninja Turtles? Turtle pies, for that matter..This could go on for hours. @pikachulover- How close are you to the border? Canada has one existing Fruitopia flavor..Strawberry Passion Awareness. If I remember correctly, it was a good one. You can even order it here.. http://www.sodafinder.com/products/fruitopia-strawberry-passion-awareness | Things Are Going To Be OK | Feb 12, 2015
| vhsCover | jkatz | Actually I didn't write the descriptions for most of these.. I just scoured IMDB for lines from reviews that I liked. As for showing it in the theater, it's true that there's not a lot of action scenes, but there are plenty of cheesy laugh out loud moments! | Survival Game | Feb 12, 2015
| Article | jkatz | This reminds me of Mr. Pibb, another long gone, sadly missed soda. Fortunately somebody ha he foresight to horde a few cans back in the day,and now it can be yours for the low, low price of $25 per can! http://www.sodafinder.com/products/mr-pibb | Things Are Going To Be OK | Feb 12, 2015
| Article | pikachulover | Thanks fuschnikt! I really hope they bring back the kiwi flavor. | Things Are Going To Be OK | Feb 12, 2015
| Article | Vaporman87 | I think you are right that our desire for nostalgic feelings rests with the experiences and trials of our youth. Though, in my case, I was the kid with lifelong friends... Living and growing in the same community all my life. I still had to deal with the fallout of divorce and all that brings with it. But in the end it afforded me a new brother who I still consider a brother even now (his mom and my dad are divorcing now too). I think in light of that, what I'm looking for is to celebrate the good times and have them somehow benefit my children. | Being The Fat Kid | Feb 12, 2015
| Article | echidna64 | Funny thing is, with all the hipsters nowadays, this probably would be a big seller. | Things Are Going To Be OK | Feb 12, 2015
| Article | Vaporman87 | When did Mr. Pibb go extinct? It was still in my area up until recently (I hadn't checked lately). Unless you mean the old formula. In 2001 the cinnamon formula became Pibb Xtra. | Things Are Going To Be OK | Feb 12, 2015
| Article | jkatz | Yeah, I was talking about original Pibb. | Things Are Going To Be OK | Feb 12, 2015
| Article | Hoju Koolander | I totally thought you were going to get away with it and that Jessie would help you escape out the window or something. At least you weren't there to steal his games. I had a "friend" who did that that I wish I could have seen smacked with a 2x4! Uh, what was the premise of Normy's Beach Babe O Rama? Definitely never heard of that one. | How to ruin a friendship without really trying | Feb 12, 2015 |
