3772ArticleHoju KoolanderI feel like I learned a lot about Chaka Khan's involvement in the 80s music scene despite the fact that I don't recall any of her actual music. The Greatest Love of All by Whitney Houston has a special place in my heart because my elementary school class performed the song in sign language for some assembly in the late 80s. Being a KISS fan, the one you missed was "I Love It Loud" off the Creatures of the Night album in 1982, but that was during the band's down period, so I don't blame you. Feb 22, 2017View
3964ArticleHoju KoolanderI feel like I was just 1 year too old to have taken advantage of the fun promised by DZ. I remember the commercials, but it always struck me as a place for little kids, so I never gave it a chance. Probably missed out on a great time and settled for family fun center/arcade entertainment.Discovery Zone: Memories of a Ball PitJun 22, 2017View

5461ArticleBenjanimei feel like the omega virus was a board game that my older brother would have liked, in his early teens he was in this phase of buying action figures of robots and aliens among having posters in his room of them as well. i'm sure if i wasn't fueled by sugar candy back then i would have joined in with playing anyway. interesting to see some other obscure oddities here as well, i would have loved the spinjas! great article! The Things We've LostAug 07, 2021View
4280ArticleHoju KoolanderI feel like this year end celebration was also my "end of an era" event as far as watching Nickelodeon. I hung on as long as I could, but by this point I was in high school and Hey Arnold had nothing on Rugrats as far as I was concerned. I had outgrown my once favorite cable station. Although now I really want to play with some Gak! Funny how that works.A Closer Look at: Nickelodeon's New Year's 1997-1998Feb 13, 2018View

2766ArticleHoju KoolanderI feel your pain with having to explain yoyr costume to people. I have had many years of costumes only I understood. The Shadow, Buckethead, these are not well known entities in the popular culture. I wonder if kids now tip each other off on Twitter, etc. "OMG,The McCarthy's have full size Hershey bars!"We Got the Good StuffOct 03, 2015View

1117ArticleVaporman87I figured your moniker was referring to Knuckles. Speaking of whom, he appears to have beefed up for Sonic Boom. I was trying to recall my summer of '95. I can only recall the major things... Beginning my time in the workforce, living alone for the first time in my own apartment, and very large phone bills for my online use. I had met a girl from Washington (state) and was corresponding with her via AOL chat rooms. Eventually she came to Ohio for a week to visit, and in February of '96, I visited her. That, of course, led nowhere (as did a few other online hookups). But I met my wife online some years later, so I could say that was just practice for the real deal.
