4149ArticleHoju KoolanderYour re-enactment of playing Mouse Trap is 100% accurate. I bought it based on the commercial and it fell flat. They have revised it since then and the version I bought for my son actually works in it's simplified form. Very fun. Sep 24, 2017View
4150ArticleHoju KoolanderVery sweet story of Brotherly Love (sans the Lawrence Brothers). The idea of not understanding the odds against you in these contests is so right on. Ahh, the optimism of childhood. My Sister and the Harriet the Spy Nickelodeon Contest Sep 24, 2017View
4151ArticleHoju KoolanderYou're right, despite the constant fighting, comic book heroes do often represent the best ideals of humanity, even in the face of "evil". Spider-Man especially with The Lizard, Green Goblin or even Venom always tried to talk sense into his foes, understanding they were mentally unwell. My Super ChildhoodSep 24, 2017View
4168ArticleHoju KoolanderThis kind of Japanese release fascinates me. Thanks for sharing. It reminds me of this anime film of The Guyver I found in the 90s called Out of Control that was a wacky one off story changing some key plot points and characters. Luckily there was also an anime TV series that was much closer to the original manga. The Great Mission to Save Princess PeachOct 09, 2017View
4169ArticleHoju KoolanderBloom County and Doonsbury we're so over my head as a kid. I mostly stuck with Fox Trot, Garfield and Dick Tracy. I always flipped through The Far Side books at book stores though, endlessly entertaining.80s Comic StripsOct 09, 2017View
4170ArticleHoju KoolanderI totally understand the obsessing over female celebrities. I was all about Tiffani Amber Thiessen with Teen Beat magazine photos all over my bedroom walls and school folders. I gave up being so forward about it in high school when a cute girl asked, "So are you a stalker or something?" Shut me right down.Jennifer Lopez: My Biggest Celebrity Crush of all TimeOct 09, 2017View

4193ArticleHoju KoolanderIt's so interesting to get a different perspective on this film and the fandom surrounding it, since I was an 18 year old dude at the time. I also saw it in theaters, then immediately bought the soundtrack. Such a hilarious film and the music is killer. Of course, there was no recognizable character I could have dressed up as, unless I could throw together a DuJour outfit. But maybe one of these days I oughtta try a Wyatt costume on and see if anybody recognizes me.JosiecatNov 06, 2017View
4194ArticleHoju KoolanderYeah, the only non-sports cards to be found now are gaming based or wrestling themed, unless you count the Panini sticker packs and albums being offered at Dollar Tree stores. I love looking at the movie cards because sometimes those stills are from deleted scenes that never made it to the finished film.Trading Card TreasuresNov 06, 2017View
4198ArticleHoju Koolander@mickyarber I never had the commitment to any one property to try and get a full set unless it was Marvel, but even then I am still like 15 cards short in each set. I still have a dream of buying a sealed box of unopened Marvel Universe series 1 or 2. I'll make that come true some day soon. @NLogan I had no idea they made Dragon's Lair cards, that's wild. Oh man, a full set of KISS and GB2 cards would be sweet, especially if I did it pack by pack. Don't want to lose the thrill of the hunt.Trading Card TreasuresNov 08, 2017View
