3985ArticleHoju KoolanderWhenever I think of Sega Genesis, Altered Beast comes to mind first. Always thought it was awesome. I love those biting blob enemies that you kick into goo. I had no idea that there was an NES port, that would be fascinating to play. I had a Starfox game watch like that, but had I known about the Altered Beast version, I would have totally been wearing that. Jul 06, 2017View
4004ArticleHoju Koolander@NLogan KB was a way to shop for "retro" toys, but after just a few years of the line's release. @Vaporman87 My complete disregard for conventional employment led to many adventures, that's for sure KB was a discount heaven for those of us who had less mainstream taste. For example, all The Shadow figures found nowadays have a KB Toys price tag on them. Author's Note: I mistakenly called Captain Liberty from The Tick "Liberty Lass" in the article. I got her mixed up with a fictional heroine from Mark Hammil's mockumentary Comic Book The Movie. My bad.Toy Store DreamsJul 22, 2017View
4005ArticleHoju Koolander@OldSchool80s Yeah, smells are big. The sweet scent of the gum that used to come with Topps trading cards always takes me back. @Vaporman87 Seriously. I'm thinking of making friends with all the senior citizens I know, just so I can rummage around their basements.Raiders of the Lost ToysJul 22, 2017View
4010ArticleHoju KoolanderThis was a great What If... experiment. I have to echo everybody else in disagreeing with Claremont's vision for Wolverine. I remember in an old Wizard magazine they cast a Cape Fear era Robert DeNiro as Logan, which seemed like a good choice. Loved the Rutger Hauer pull too, makes so much sense. Oh and Dolph Lundgren for Colossus, right? DUH!My Dream Cast for a 1987 X-Men movieJul 22, 2017View
4016ArticleHoju KoolanderLate night TV was always an adventure. I remember Hercules In New York playing a lot in the 1am slot, with Arnold making his pecs dance. I also watched a lot of The Patty Duke Show late on Nick At Nite when I couldn't sleep as a kid. That and Doby Gillis were always in rotation for me along with the old Dennis The Menace show starring Jay North.Late Night Re-runs (Circa mid-80s)Jul 25, 2017View
4033ArticleHoju KoolanderI always remember the scene in Supergirl (the mo ie, not the show) where the bully student duo are trying to scald Kara in the shower by turning the heat all the way up behind the wall. Kara spots them with her x-ray vision, then uses her heat vision to burst the pipe and spray hot water all over the mean girls. Score one point for Supergirl!Top Scenes from 80s Movies featuring a Bathtub or ShowerJul 31, 2017View
4047ArticleHoju KoolanderScooby-Doo ruled my pre-school years, but Hong Kong Phooey was always an odball treat along with Dyno-Mutt. Apparently I was tight with Hanna-Barbera's canine crew.My Five All Time Favorite Hanna Barbera ToonsAug 09, 2017View
4107ArticleHoju Koolander@NLogan Like I said, even I missed most of the merchandise as I recently found out. So no surprise you didn't catch sight of it either. @MrMagic Say what you will about the movie, the pinball machine is tons of fun. Where did you see it?The Shadow: Rare 90's MerchandiseSep 06, 2017View
4130ArticleHoju KoolanderThe imagination of a child is amazing. I really want to see that Brownie soap opera story play out with R2 getting dumped for King Kong, then getting hitched with Godzilla. Copyrights? Bah! We want entertainment! The Adventures of Junior, the World's Greatest Cat DetectiveSep 14, 2017View
4131ArticleHoju KoolanderI was always jealous of kids who could draw in that anime/cartoon style, so you would have definitely made "The List"! But seriously, I feel you on the doodling issue, I know for a fact that's why I was a C student from about 6th grade on. Learning? Just let me draw, teach!Lars Dakota: The lost original characterSep 14, 2017View
