3938ArticleHoju KoolanderI remember being baffled by my friend's SuperPro comics because he seemed like the antithesis of every comic book nerd's desires. We're reading comics because we suck at sports, stop rubbing it in our faces! I recently played Comic Zone for the first time after seeing the ads for years and I'm with jkatz, it's actually a really innovative game. But the character designs are completely of the era. Morph was definitely a dud character on the show, but I enjoyed playing with his action figure that came with a decapitated Wolverine head.  Jun 09, 2017View
3939ArticleHoju KoolanderFun movie with some great monologues that do make high schoolers stop and think about those roles that are forced on them by others. A bunch of my friends actually performed a scene from The Breakfast Club for a high school talent show, which has always given the film a special place in my heart. The Breakfast Club and Changing PerceptionsJun 09, 2017View
3963ArticleHoju KoolanderI had a feeling this would hit close to home for a lot of us. My story is far from unique as there are many great "Divorced Dads" out there. My Dad just happens to be the best ;) @Vaporman87 It's awesome that you got a new brother you liked out of the divorce. Is he the one in that hilarious video series of you trying to assassinate your younger brother and vice versa? @RickAceRhodes That is the dream of so many kids of divorced parents, what a story. @NLogan Your Dad story of video store drama is one of my favorites an his quote is such a "Dadism". Apparently Tarantula has one money pose and he's sticking with it.Divorced Dad MemoriesJun 22, 2017View
3964ArticleHoju KoolanderI feel like I was just 1 year too old to have taken advantage of the fun promised by DZ. I remember the commercials, but it always struck me as a place for little kids, so I never gave it a chance. Probably missed out on a great time and settled for family fun center/arcade entertainment.Discovery Zone: Memories of a Ball PitJun 22, 2017View
3965ArticleHoju KoolanderThe emotional roller coaster of your viewing experience was a joy to read. I was much more attached to the E.T. ride at Universal Studios than the movie, but it's pop culture influence is undeniable. As I admitted in this E.T. sequel episode of my podcast, Mac and Me was my personal E.T. growing up, https://sequelquestpod.com/2016/10/21/ep28-et-sequel/ Seeing E.T. 3973ArticleHoju KoolanderOh Xuxa, so bizarre. Like NLogan I spent some time in Brazil where she is a Megastar and saw her face everywhere. But I knew her first from this show in the 6 am timeslots pikachulover mentioned. I had forgotten Masters of the Maze, but actually watched it daily after school. JD Roth was the ultimate kid's show host for me. I've been enjoying your article contributions, keep it up!Five Game Shows No One Talks About AnymoreJun 28, 2017View
3974ArticleHoju KoolanderI am totally blown away by the revelation that Three's Company had a sequel series. I can't believe I missed that. Robert Ginty aka "The Paper Chase Guy" was also the lead in a film featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000 called Warrior of the Lost World. I wonder if StreetHawk was just too expensive to produce like The Flash TV series from 1990. It got decent ratings, they just couldn't justify the cost to keep making it.1984 TV Guide Fall Preview: ABCJul 01, 2017View
3979ArticleHoju KoolanderI have to disagree with you on Good Burger. I was a regular viewer of All That as a kid, but didn't bother to see the film in the 90s. I just watched it for the first time last year and it's actually hilarious. The humor is pretty subversive and clever for adults if you read between the lines. Look for a mention of the T2 stage show in an upcoming article of mine. I guess with the Terminator 2 3-D re-release coming soon, it's in the air. Top Five 90s Summer MoviesJul 05, 2017View
3985ArticleHoju KoolanderWhenever I think of Sega Genesis, Altered Beast comes to mind first. Always thought it was awesome. I love those biting blob enemies that you kick into goo. I had no idea that there was an NES port, that would be fascinating to play. I had a Starfox game watch like that, but had I known about the Altered Beast version, I would have totally been wearing that.Altered BeastJul 06, 2017View
4004ArticleHoju Koolander@NLogan KB was a way to shop for "retro" toys, but after just a few years of the line's release. @Vaporman87 My complete disregard for conventional employment led to many adventures, that's for sure KB was a discount heaven for those of us who had less mainstream taste. For example, all The Shadow figures found nowadays have a KB Toys price tag on them. Author's Note: I mistakenly called Captain Liberty from The Tick "Liberty Lass" in the article. I got her mixed up with a fictional heroine from Mark Hammil's mockumentary Comic Book The Movie. My bad.Toy Store DreamsJul 22, 2017View
